Deb Bourne has practiced as a management consultant since August 1997. Based on her
sixteen years experience in the National Health Service in England, her consulting practice is
primarily focused on health and social services clients. Deb's area of expertise includes project
management and strategic and operational planning. Deb attained Certified Management
Consultant (CMC) status in May 2005, through the Canadian Association of Management
Consultants, and her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in July 2011. Her
previous academic credentials include a Master of Science in Public Sector Management from
Aston University, England, Bachelor of Arts (honours) in Sociology and Education and a Diploma
in Health Services Management.
Deb has extensive experience with health authority projects, working with the BC Provincial
Health Services Authority, Interior Health, Fraser Health and Northern Health primarily in
community care and mental health. In addition, Deb has experience working with First Nations
organizations in BC on health planning, policy development, proposal writing and operational
management.
Deb has been a director on a number of not-for profit boards, and is also an active member of
the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC), having been the chapter chair for
the Southern Interior Chapter, and the current Secretary for the CMC-BC Institute. She is also a
member of the Project Management Institute and the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
